than 15 years of experience. Tapan has susccessfully

He was born in the sacred city of Benares(at the Ganga river
side), where he began his education in tabla under the brilliant
guidance of one of the most prestigious tabla Masters of
his country, his Guru Pandit Kaviraj Ashutosh Bhattacharya,
a close disciple of the world famous tabla player, Late
Pandit Kanthe Maharaj from the Benares Gharana (one of the
most famous traditionals schools or styles of playing tabla
in india).
Settled in Spain since 1990, Tapan
is the main responsible figure in the promulgation of Indian
Classical Music and Dance in Spain. He invites musicians
and dancers from India to perform the Indian Classical Styles.
He has accompanied regularily, well known musicians including
the great Maestros like Pandit Shyamal Chattopadaya (Sitar);
Pt. Buddhadev Das Gupta (Sarod); Pt. Rajan & Sajan Mishra;
Pt.Vishwa Mohan Bhatt(Mohan Vina); Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya
(Santoor); Pt. Ronu Majundar (Bansoori); S.G. Sachdev
Integreating himself with western contemporany music, he
plays with diferent artist , contributing with a ethnic
shade through the sounds of tabla.
His clarity, vitality and elegan performance
expresses the spontaneous expression of his powerful emotions,
spirituality and deep knowledge of the technique.
-He had composed and performed with his brother, some musical
pieces of the Play, Un Somni Directed by Catalina
Buzoianu presented in the International Theatre Festival.

-He has been the director of World Music Seccion, at the
Teatreneu (Barcelona 1999-2000)
and the India Night Coordinator, at the Etnimálaga
Festival (Spain 2000-2001).
- He has created several groups of Indian Classsical Music
and o Fusion Music, in Spain like: Tapangroup;Bengoli
Group; Yatra Group; Tal Kachary;
Trimurti; Sargam.
